A facility providing primary medical services that a person can reach within 15-20 minutes must be ensured, this was stated by Sharafat Ismayilova, the Acting Chairperson of the Board of the Center for Accreditation of Medical Institutions and Quality Control of the Ministry of Health, during the public hearing on the topic "Primary Health Care: Current Situation, Work Done, Problems, and Solutions" at the Health Committee meeting of the National Assembly, APA reports.
Sharafat Ismayilova said that regardless of location, all primary health care institutions should provide services of the same quality: "Prevention is always cheaper and more effective than treatment. Improving primary health care will reduce our healthcare costs. Primary health care is divided into two parts. This includes medical assistance provided in areas without doctors and medical assistance provided in institutions with doctors. Doctor's posts and medical posts are planned for regions in this regard. For district centers and cities, we have planned the polyclinic model. In some areas, mobile primary health care and telemedicine services will be imposed. The terms for providing this service will be specified in the regulation. Legislation related to telemedicine requires certain regulations."
