The geography of natural activity and events is increasing every year, said Mukhtar Babayev, President of COP29, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Azerbaijan, during his speech at the conference "Raising Ambition, Delivering Action: COP29 Sustainable Business Forum" held in Baku, APA reports.
"Azerbaijan contributes to the fight against climate change. In many foreign developed countries, a carbon tax is imposed due to the release of carbon emissions into the atmosphere, and a new draft law has been prepared in this direction in Azerbaijan. In other words, to reduce carbon emissions, manage carbon credits, and create and regulate the carbon trading system, a new draft law has been prepared and is in the final approval stage. The main goal here is to encourage enterprises to release emissions and invest in the application of modern technologies. This is already in the final process," he added.
