Tottenham beat Chelsea in the English Premier League

Tottenham Hotspur defeated Chelsea 2-0 in their away match of the eighth round of the English Premier League.

In the 77th minute, Chelsea goalkeeper Mike Penders scored an own goal. Following a corner kick, the Belgian unsuccessfully attempted to punch the ball away. In the 80th minute, Chelsea's English midfielder Cole Palmer was sent off after receiving a second yellow card. Tottenham's French striker Mathis Thel sealed the final score.

Tottenham Hotspur secured their second consecutive English Premier League victory. In the previous round, the team beat Coventry 3-1 at home. This is the club's only win in the current season. With nine points, the club sits in 12th place in the league table.

Chelsea suffered their third defeat in the English Premier League. The team is in fourth place with 13 points. Spaniard Xabi Alonso was appointed manager of Chelsea during the off-season.

Chelsea will host Manchester United in their next match on October 31st. Tottenham will play Crystal Palace at home on the same day.
