The restoration of an additional 30 houses is planned this year, Afat Telmangizi, Head of the Public Relations Department of the Restoration, Construction and Management Service in the city of Khankendi and the Aghdara and Khojaly districts, told journalists, APA’s local bureau reports.
There are 177 individual houses in the Childiran village, of which 69 are uninhabitable, and 108 are partially habitable.
According to her, so far 28 houses have been brought into operational condition: “The restoration of an additional 30 houses is planned this year. Currently, 13 families (48 people) have initially returned to the village.”
She also provided information about the infrastructure being rebuilt in the village.
“In Childiran village, 2 existing transformers, electricity, and gas lines have been restored, and new electricity, gas, and communication lines have been installed. In addition, a water pump has been put into operation, water reservoirs with a total capacity of 190 cubic meters have been cleaned, and the sub-artesian well has been repaired. Intra-village roads 8.4 kilometers long have been restored, and a park has been established.”
Note that Childiran village is located in the eponymous administrative-territorial unit of the Aghdara district, in a foothill area. Before the occupation, the main occupations of the local population were livestock farming and crop cultivation. The village had a school, a cultural center, a library, and a medical station. The village’s territory is rich in historical monuments. Architectural monuments such as the 12th-century “Alban temple” and the 13th-century “Red temple" are located here. The occupation of the village ended as a result of the anti-terror operation carried out by the Armed Forces of Azerbaijan in September 2023.
