The Perseid meteor shower will be visible until August 24. The meteor shower is expected to reach its peak activity on August 13 at 06:00 a.m. Baku time, APA reports, citing the Department of Astrophysics of the Faculty of Physics at Baku State University (BSU).
"In 2026, the peak of the Perseid meteor shower coincides with the New Moon phase. The absence of moonlight will ensure that the sky is sufficiently dark and will hardly interfere with observing the meteors. For this reason, the 2026 Perseid meteor shower is considered one of the most favorable observation opportunities in recent years," the statement said.
