"Pandemic put health systems under pressure and caused serious difficulties for countries, governments," said First Deputy Health Minister, acting Health Minister Teymur Musayev in his address in a panel entitled "Healthcare and vaccination of people" within the framework of the 8th Baku Global Forum, APA reports.
Minister noted that figures regarding vaccine distribution in countries with high income are high, while in countries with low income, 4 doses fall per a hundred people: "The difference is disappointing."
T. Musayev shared Azerbaijan's experience with event participants: "We overcome it effectively. We purchased enough vaccines and vaccination in Azerbaijan started on January 18 last year. More than 60% of target auditorium have been vaccinated and our citizens already receive booster doses."
