As vote counting continues in Israel's parliamentary elections, the number of seats held by the bloc led by Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is increasing, APA reports.

According to preliminary results announced by Israel's Central Election Committee, votes from 32.5% of ballot boxes have been counted.

Based on the current results, the bloc of parties supporting Netanyahu is securing 59 seats in the 120-seat Knesset, while the opposition bloc opposing him is securing 46 seats.

It is noted that at an earlier stage of vote counting, results had indicated that Netanyahu's bloc would gain a majority in parliament. However, subsequent counts have changed the distribution of seats.

Although the Prime Minister celebrated the elections with his supporters following the updated results, he has not yet declared victory.

According to the information, three political forces are currently failing to cross the 3.25% electoral threshold required to enter parliament. The "Reservists" party has received 2.7% of the vote, "People of Israel" 1.8%, and "Charedi Public" 0.3%.

Nevertheless, the announced figures are not final and may change as vote counting continues.

In particular, ballots cast in double envelopes, including votes from military personnel, will be counted later.

Recall that forming a government in Israel requires the support of at least 61 lawmakers in the 120-seat Knesset.
