International Education & Career 2008 Exhibition takes place in Baku

Misir Mardanov, Azerbaijanâ€™s Minister of Education, said the number of participants increased by 25% this year.
He added that Azerbaijan sent 1 130 students for study abroad this year while the figure was about 1 000 last year.
â€œIn total 4 000 students from Azerbaijan are studying abroad. 1 000 of them have full scholarship from the Government of Azerbaijan. Also, the number of international students in Azerbaijan doubled over five years to about 6 500. The quality of education has further improved in Azerbaijan,â€ he added.
Khayal Aliyeva, manager of the exhibition, said that 40 companies from 11 countries joined the event that highlights secondary and higher education, education, exchange programmes and jobs abroad, information technologies and other services in education.
Education centers based in Italy, Germany, the UK, Greece, Switzerland and other countries take part in the exhibition.
The two-day exhibition was organized by Iteca Caspian and supported by the Ministry of Education and Chamber of Commerce and Industry.
