The Azerbaijani Army is among the strongest militaries in the region in terms of logistics, weapons arsenal, technologies, and professionalism, Defense Minister Colonel General Zakir Hasanov said at the graduation ceremony of the Heydar Aliyev Military Institute, operating under the National Defense University (NDU), APA reports.
He said that the military development policy founded by National Leader Heydar Aliyev has entered a new stage of progress under the leadership of Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev.
“The Supreme Commander-in-Chief's statement, ‘Our army is our pride,’ is an undeniable reality that has proven itself. It is an indicator of our country's military strength and a clear example of the confidence placed in the Azerbaijani Army. This year marks the sixth anniversary of the 44-day Patriotic War, in which the Azerbaijani Army achieved victory. It was not only a military triumph but also a celebration of our national unity, the political will of the Supreme Commander-in-Chief, and the professionalism of our army,” Zakir Hasanov said.
The minister noted that every cadet graduating today, regardless of their place of service, should become a leader in their field.
“You will become the future chiefs and commanders. Graduates of the Faculty of Military Medicine are not only professional military doctors but also devoted officers who protect the lives of every soldier. I would also like to emphasize the role of the Turkish Armed Forces in the high-level training of officers. I express my gratitude to them for this. Among today's graduates are also cadets from our partner and friendly countries, Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan. In addition to applying the knowledge and skills they acquired here in their own countries, they will further strengthen the friendship between our states,” he said.
Hasanov added that the graduating cadets must pass on Azerbaijan, which has earned the status of a victorious country, to future generations as a sacred trust.
“You must comply with the laws of the Republic of Azerbaijan and the requirements of military regulations, and serve our people and state with dignity,” the minister said.
