Sandra Roelofs: “Azerbaijan and Georgia have common problems in many fields”

First Lady of Georgia, UN envoy on struggling tuberculosis in the Eastern Europe Sandra Roelofs arrived in Baku within her 5-day visit to Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. The guest met with the First lady of Azerbaijan Mehriban Aliyeva and Health Minister Oqtay Shiraliyev and visited the Tuberculosis Center, APA reports. Roelofs said at the press conference that she would make report in Geneva on the results of her visit. She said there were progresses in the struggle against tuberculosis in Azerbaijan. Roelofs said Azerbaijan and Georgia were fraternal countries. “We are depending on each other in many fields and have common problems”. Touching upon the political events, the guest said a number of monitoring groups were working in Georgia to investigate August events and Hillary Clinton was also planning to establish analogical group. Responding the question that Russia doesn’t recognize her spouse as the president, Sandra Roelofs said: “My husband wants free, democratic and prosperous Georgia free, that’s why Russia doesn’t accept him”.
