A lot of progresses and innovations have been made in Baku over the past four-five months. The progresses have been made not only in the city architecture, but in the women movement too”, Minister of Women and Families Issues of Turkey Nimet Chubukchu told APA. She highly appreciated the participation of Azerbaijani women in the socio-political processes. “We have always seen Azerbaijani women in the front line taking important place in the society throughout the history. Azerbaijani women are very strong. I think it is time to show it at the international level, because there are misleading notions about the Turkic women in the world and it is important to organize such international events to change these notions”.
Chubukchu said she believed in the success of Azerbaijani Women’s 3rd Congress. “The ladies coming from all regions of the country have an opportunity to speak about their problems and to share their cares. I thank them for invitation to the congress and I am proud to be in Baku”.
The Turkish minister paid tribute to the memory of those who gave life for the independence of Azerbaijan. “Men have a great role in the struggle of many peoples for freedom, but in Azerbaijan and Turkey the women also have a great role in achieving the independence and developing the national consciousness. Therefore we show deep respect to the martyrs’ mothers. We have visited the Alley of Honor and Alley of Martyrs today. We see the young women became martyrs for the independence and were moved to tears. The struggle of martyr women for freedom should be continued by the new generations today”.
