Sheikh-al-islam Haji Allahshukur Pashazadeh appeals to world community on occasion of March 31 – Day of Azerbaijanis’ Genocide
“The Azerbaijani people had glorious history of independence in the 20th century, but also sacrificed tens of thousands of its citizens as a result of the massacres committed by enemies. The genocides committed against our people are black spot in the history of all mankind. Nothing can acquit the actions of the Armenian extremists and their supports, who committed massacres against Azerbaijanis twice within a century. Civilians, children, women, the old were killed atrociously, villages, cities, tangible and intangible heritage were destroyed. In many places of Azerbaijan there are bloody tracks, mass graves of the genocide committed 92 years ago in 1918. The mass graves found in Guba prove it.â€
The appeal says the actions of the Armenian extremists must be assessed on the level of the international law.
“Approach from the aspect of double standards, biased distortion, or ignorance with respect to the humanity crimes is inadmissible. Impunity instigates to new crimes. Taking advantage of the impunity Armenian extremists occupied 20 percent of the Azerbaijani territories, killed civilians, drove out over million people from their native lands, ignore UN resolutions.â€
Allahshukur Pashazadeh especially emphasized the spiritual-ethic side of these issues. “All religions consider the attempt upon the human life as unforgivable sin. Our religious ethics considers killing of one person as a crime against whole humanity and focuses on heavy spiritual responsibility of those who committed genocide. The humankind must strongly condemn and damn the murderers, who lost human faces, and judge and brand them as the criminals committed crimes against the humanity. The world community should have correct information about the historic realities saved in the archives. Azerbaijan becomes victim of not only Armenian extremism, but also false information disseminated by the Armenian lobby over the world. This country uses its myth of “historic sufferer†to justify its vandalism, bloody tragedies and military invasion in Azerbaijan and occupation of Azerbaijani lands before the world communityâ€.
The chairman of the Caucasian Muslims Office wistfully noted the extension of those who concern about the so-called genocides, but not about the real one. “We are seriously concerning about the recognition of false genocides in the international arena and introduction of those who committed genocide as a “victim of genocideâ€. Our messages to give legal-political assessment to Khojaly massacre against the Azerbaijani people have not given results so far. But we believe that the world will not remain indifferent to the fair voice of Azerbaijani people and support its fair case to restore the historic justice. We hope that spreading of information about the Azerbaijani realities over the world will help to reveal real face of Armenia as an aggressor and terrorist country committed genocides. We are calling on the world community not to remain indifferent to the tragedies of Azerbaijani people, to give principal legal assessment to horrible genocide acts committed against our people, to show solidarity with us in the fair solution to the Nagorno Karabakh conflict. God help you to differentiate right and wrong and bless you. Amen!’.
