US President Donald Trump has not ruled out the possibility of expanding military operations against Iran, saying that Washington's actions would be in line with the country's interests, Trump said in a telephone interview with Politico, APA reports.
"We will look at the situation, and if we see an opportunity to take any action, we will do what is best for our country," Trump said in response to a question about the possibility of escalating operations against Iran.
Asked about the possibility of using nuclear weapons, the US President said there was no need for them.
"I don't need that. We have already taken out 90% of them. So there is no need for that," Trump said.
He stated that he believes his decision regarding Iran was the right one for both the United States and the world in the long term. According to Trump, although rising oil prices have been linked to the conflict with Iran, his decision was the right one in terms of long-term interests.
