APA reports that month of Muharram is marked in a number of Muslim countries, including Azerbaijan. Cadi Board of the Caucasian Muslims Office issued a fatwa in connection with it.

Ashura â€“ the tenth day of the month of Muharram will be marked on December 27. Blood donation action is expected to be held on the day of Ashura through the Caucasian Muslims Office.

Muharram is the first month of the Hijra. On the day of Ashura Imam Hussain, grandson of the Prophet Muhammad, the son of the fourth caliph Hazrat Ali, and his relatives were killed by Yezid ibn Muaviyye.
