More than 100 religious communities reregistered in Azerbaijan

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. The State Committee for Work with Religious Associations registered 30 religious communities more, the committee officials told APA. More than 100 religious communities have already been reregistered. Most of them are the Islamic communities, but there are non-Islamic too. The newly-registered communities will receive certificates at the State Committee on Thursday.

The State Committee said nearly 500 communities applied for registration.

According to the amendments to the law on religious views and freedom of faith, the religious communities will not be allowed to provide activity without registration from January, 2010.
