Committee chairman: â€œSome states want to apply their state-religion model in Azerbaijanâ€

The most ancient mosque of Baku Beyler mosque will be reconstructed, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Religious Structures Hidayat Orujov said, APA reports. He said that he had already familiarized with the cost estimate documents of the mosque. The estimated expenditures of the mosque dating back to the 11th century are ready. Orujov said the reconstruction of the mosques is in the center of attention in Azerbaijan.
â€œAzerbaijan is the country building mosques, not knocking down mosques. Illegal buildings have been knocked down and will be knocked down in future. Some persons, who built illegal constructions under the pretext of mosque, appeal to courts. They lose time. Politicization of the religion will not be allowed in Azerbaijan. Extremist actions must be prevented. Some states want to apply their state-religion model in Azerbaijan. Azerbaijan will not allow it,â€ he said.
