Azerbaijan largely invested in physical infrastructure, including seaports, railroads, highways, and air cargo transportation. Definitely, to become a regional transportation hub, you have to have good relations with your neighbors, President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev said during the panel discussion titled “Open Corridor Policy? Deepening Trans-Caspian Cooperation” held in Munich as part of the Munich Security Conference, APA reports.
The head of state noted: “This is the case with Azerbaijan, whether it's to the West or to the East. Azerbaijan's geographical position, being situated between Europe and Asia, is an advantage, but without physical infrastructure, it doesn't mean a lot.”
