President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has sent a letter to the President of the Republic of Malta, Her Excellency Mrs. Miriam Spiteri Debono, APA reports.
The letter reads:
"Dear Madam President,
On behalf of myself and the people of Azerbaijan, I extend my most sincere congratulations to you and your people on the occasion of the national holiday of the Republic of Malta - Independence Day.
I believe that we will continue to make joint efforts to develop friendly relations between Azerbaijan and Malta, which celebrate the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations this year, and to expand our mutually beneficial cooperation.
"On this auspicious day, I wish you good health, success in your work, and constant peace and prosperity for your people."
