"A digital economic platform should be established among the Turkic states," Deputy Chairman of Türkiye's Justice and Development Party (AK Party) and Ankara MP Kürşad Zorlu said at the 2nd International Conference of Leading National Think Tanks of the Organization of Turkic States held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
He noted that the world is experiencing a new industrial phase characterized by the rapid development of digital integration, artificial intelligence, data-driven governance, blockchain, and financial technologies.
Zorlu stated that the Turkic world must take these changes into account and take steps in line with the economy of the future.
According to him, work is underway to establish a digital economic platform among the Turkic states.
"We want to establish a digital economic platform among the Turkic states as a priority. A digital partnership agreement has been signed. Azerbaijan, Türkiye, and Uzbekistan have ratified this document in their parliaments, and the process is continuing in other countries," Zorlu said.
He noted that approximately 3 million companies operate in Türkiye, and 76% of them currently conduct foreign trade operations using traditional methods.
"To gain access to wider markets, we must first bring products manufactured in our own countries to both our domestic markets and global markets through a digital platform," he emphasized.
Zorlu stated that a digital platform called "Türkiye Kervanı" has been established in Türkiye through a private-sector initiative and that Uzbekistan also has important projects in this area.
According to him, the creation of such platforms will reduce time loss, facilitate companies' access to international markets, and enable brands from the Turkic world to gain wider recognition.
