Crude oil supplies from Azerbaijan to Japan are now of greater importance than before, President Ilham Aliyev said while answering a Japanese journalist's question about Azerbaijan's contribution to Japan's energy security at the 4th Shusha Global Media Forum, APA reports.
"Many Japanese companies have worked as contractors on major industrial projects in Azerbaijan. I have personally attended the inauguration ceremonies of large power plants built by Japanese companies. Although there is currently no significant volume of Japanese investment in our country, I believe this will happen in the future. Following the Second Karabakh War, the intensity of diplomatic contacts between our countries has not remained at the previous level. However, I believe there is great potential for cooperation," the head of state noted.
