Moscow has been hit by its largest drone attack in the past two years, APA's Moscow bureau reports.

Yesterday evening, the Ukrainian army launched nearly 500 UAVs toward the Russian capital.

Of these, 180 drones were shot down near Moscow, while the rest were intercepted at a considerable distance from the capital region.

The Russian side has not reported any casualties or damage as a result of the drone attack on Moscow.

The Russian Ministry of Defense reported that 902 Ukrainian drones were shot down overnight. It was announced that the UAVs were intercepted over Russia's central, Volga, southern, and northwestern regions.

The overnight drone attack paralyzed Moscow's aviation hub. Vnukovo, Domodedovo, Zhukovsky, and Sheremetyevo airports suspended takeoffs and landings at various times. All four airports resumed operations at 6:44 a.m. Moscow time.

Operations at Vnukovo Airport were suspended for more than eight hours. During the restrictions, all passengers were returned to the terminal. Eleven flights from Türkiye to Moscow were turned back. According to Flightradar24 data, the aircraft were diverted to Istanbul.
