The number of procedures for connecting to electricity grids in Azerbaijan is being reduced from 7 to 2, while the connection period will be shortened from 41 to 20 days, Energy Minister Parviz Shahbazov said during his speech at the Third National Competition Forum held in Baku, APA-Economics reports.
According to the minister, this is being made possible through the implementation of the "one-stop shop" principle and the expansion of electronic services.
Shahbazov noted that simplifying procedures, increasing the transparency of services, and disclosing information on the reliability of energy supply reduce the administrative burden on businesses.
He stated that improving energy efficiency also plays an important role in increasing the competitiveness of the national economy.
The Law "On Efficient Use of Energy Resources and Energy Efficiency" encourages the introduction of energy-saving technologies, investment in this sector, and the development of new service markets.
The minister added that these measures not only reduce production costs but also create new opportunities for entrepreneurship in areas such as energy auditing and energy management.
Shahbazov emphasized that the sustainable and competitive development of the energy sector will remain one of the main priorities.
