The construction of a power plant in Serbia will be one of Azerbaijan's major investments in Europe, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev said at the 1st meeting of the Strategic Partnership Council between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Serbia with the participation of Serbian President Aleksandar Vučić, APA reports.
"President Vučić noted the construction of the power plant. I believe that this is an important indicator of how we have diversified our cooperation in the energy sector. We started with gas cooperation, and now we are moving to the next stage - how to use this gas with maximum efficiency for both sides in order to transform it into the final product, electricity. This will be one of Azerbaijan's major investments in Europe in recent years. This also demonstrates a high level of mutual trust. Because you invest only when you trust a country and your partners with whom you have good relations. You know that under the wise leadership of Aleksandar Vučić, stability and development in Serbia will be an important factor in the long term," President Ilham Aliyev emphasized.
