The International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) has not yet visited Azerbaijani Army serviceman Nasimi Musayev, who is being held in Armenia, Sputnik Armenia said, citing Zara Amatuni, head of communication programs at the ICRC Delegation in Armenia, APA reports.

She said the ICRC has a mandate to deal with this issue, but no visit has taken place so far.

Zara Amatuni noted that they are in dialogue with the Armenian authorities regarding the matter.

It should be noted that, according to information released by the Press Service of the Prosecutor General’s Office, reports emerged that Musayev Nasimi Rasim oglu, who was undergoing active military service in one of the military units located in the direction of Azerbaijan’s Lachin district, had gone missing.

It was reported that on September 26, 2026, a search was launched after Nasimi Musayev was found to be absent from his place of service and his whereabouts could not be determined, and necessary search measures were carried out by the relevant forces of the Ministry of Defense and the Ministry of Emergency Situations.

In order to investigate the circumstances of the incident, a relevant inquiry was conducted by the Military Prosecutor’s Office, and as a result of the investigation, reasonable suspicions were established that Nasimi Musayev had left the military unit without authorization.

Nasimi Musayev was arrested by a decision of an Armenian court.
