Submission of applications to competition for post of Public TV Director General ends

Baku. Kamala Gulieva - APA. Submission of applications to the competition announced by the National Television and Radio Council of Azerbaijan for the post of Director General of the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company has ended. The Council told APA that the submission of applications started on April 4 and ended at 19.00 today.

Chief of the Council's Administration Togrul Mammadov told APA that the names of the candidates are not publicized.

Public affairs officer of the Public TV Tahir Mammadov said current Director General Ismayil Omarov had not applied.

Those participating in the competition are to be the citizens of Azerbaijan and have higher education. Persons previously convicted over grave crimes, those declared legally incompetent by the court can not participate in the competition.

After the candidates for the post of Director General of Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company are determined, the list of the candidates will be submitted to the Public Television and Radio Broadcasting Company for holding election in accordance with articles 20.1.3 and 21.1 of the Law of Azerbaijan Republic on “Public Television and Radio Broadcasting”.
