The presentation of newly established “APA Holding” LLC has been held today. The presentation started with the demonstration of the promotion film about the Holding.
Following this, delivering a speech, APA General Director, chairman of the “APA Holding” Board of Directors Nurshan Guliyev gave detailed information about the company’s activity and novelties. He said that “APA Holding” LLC was registered at the Ministry of Justice on October 3, 2012. The Holding includes Azeri-Press Information Agency LLC, Lent.az Information Agency LLC, Vesti.az Information Agency LLC, APASport.az Information Agency LLC, Ekonomist LLC, APA SERVIS LLC. The Holding offers information, advertising, communication, internet and provider services. The Holding’s website has already been launched (www.apaholding.az).”
Guliyev noted that Vusala Mahirgizi has been dismissed as APA General Director due to the establishment of the Holding. Nurshan Guliyev, the First Deputy Director of the agency, has been appointed to this post. Gabil Rustamov is Director General of Lent.az Information Agency, Araz Zeynalov - Director General of Vesti.az Information Agency, Ikhtiyar Asgarov - Director General of APASport.az Information Agency, Vugar Mustafayev – General Director of Ekonomist LLC, Eldaniz Valiyev – APA SERVIS LLC. Vusala Abishova Mahir is President of “APA Holding”. Her appointment was confirmed at the meeting of the Board of Directors on October 29, 2012.
Besides it, Code of Professional Conduct for “APA Holding” staff has been accepted. The code consisted of nine items.
Guliyev also noted the establishment of Trade Union Committee of “APA Holding”. The decision on it was passed at the meeting of “APA Holding” staff on November 2, 2012. Editor of APA Information Agency Mahbuba Gasimbeyli was elected as chairperson of the Trade Union Committee. Following this, Supervision Inspection Commission of the Committee was set up. According to the decision of the staff, application on admission to Azerbaijan Trade Unions Confederation was approved at the meeting. Trade Union Committee of APA Holding was admitted to the Republic Committee of Trade Union of Employees of Azerbaijani Enterprises, Private and Scientific Institutions.
Following this, making a speech at the event, President of “APA Holding” Vusala Mahirgizi noted that their main goal, while founding APA 8 years ago, was the establishment of a media holding. She underlined that it was achieved as a result of APA’s diligence, potential and desire: “We will further continue these successes. Several news projects will be presented to the readers in the future. “Lent.az” will be enhanced. It will become the first national portal in Azerbaijan. The readers will be able to get any information easily from this website.”
I specially want to speak about the adoption of the Code of Professional Conduct for “APA Holding” staff. It is new for Azerbaijani press. We think that every media outlet must be its Code of Professional Conduct and journalists must obey it.
At the end, President of “APA Holding” Vusala Mahirgizi thanked everybody, readers and especially the Holding staff for their support.
Following this, deputy chairperson of the Republic Committee of Trade Union of Employees of Azerbaijani Enterprises, Private and Scientific Institutions Zemfira Bunyatova presented the membership card to President of “APA Holding” and APA General Director Nurshan Guliyev.
