Fake statements circulated on behalf of several Azerbaijani public officials

Some social media accounts have shared fabricated statements made using "deepfake" technology in the names of several public officials of the Republic of Azerbaijan, MEDIA told APA.

It was stated that a series of fake videos prepared by certain circles with the help of artificial intelligence and distributed in the information environment is an example of gross manipulation aimed at misleading public opinion.

"We urge the public to trust only the information provided by official sources, and remind them that you can obtain information expressing the official position of the state from official sources, as well as from the country's news agencies and other professional media entities.

We call on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to always demonstrate principledness in the face of such situations, and to be vigilant in an environment where campaigns based on fake and false information, and the trend of creating content using "deep fake" technologies, are gaining momentum," the statement said.
