A fake comment falsely attributed to the Minister of Internal Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan regarding the statements of the President of Azerbaijan has been circulated on several social media accounts, the Media Development Agency said in a statement, APA reports.
It was noted that these fabricated claims, which have recently turned into a campaign, are an example of gross information manipulation aimed at misleading public opinion.
"We urge the public to trust only the information provided by official sources, and remind them that you can obtain information expressing the official position of the state from official sources, as well as from the country's news agencies and other professional media entities.
We call on Azerbaijani citizens, journalists, and public activists to always demonstrate principledness in the face of such situations, and to be vigilant in an environment where campaigns based on fake and false information, and the trend of creating content using "deep fake" technologies, are gaining momentum," the statement said.
