Editor Uzeyir Jafarov sues inspector

Uzeyir Jafarov, editor of Gundelik Azerbaijan newspaper underwent physical assault by unknown men on April 20 will appeal to court for holding Yasamal district police inspector Rafig Aliyev accountable, the editor told the APA.
He said that the inspector does not conduct any investigations regarding the case.
â€œThe inspector sent me a letter writing that the fact that one of the assaulters was Yasamal district police officer Nabi Rajabov and he is innocent. This is illegal. The inspector did not conduct any investigation and none of the four correspondents of the editorial staff I named as witnesses has been interrogated,â€ he said.
Jafarov said that he will appeal to Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov for taking corresponding measures.
Rafig Aliyev did not comment on the case.
The editor claims that one of the assaulters was Yasamal district police officer Nabi Rajabov.
The criminal case has been launched on the assault on editor of Gundalik Azerbaijan newspaper Uzeyir Jafarov on article 132 (beating) of the Criminal Code in Yasamal district police office. /APA/
