Some journalists try to hold unsanctioned rally

The journalists did not obey and the police detained editor-in-chief of Yeni Musavat newspaper Rauf Arifoglu and took him to the police station.
The journalists went to the police station to release the editor-in-chief and he was released. When they again came to Sabir park the territory was under the control of the police. The police demanded the journalists to stop the protest action. The journalists did not obey this. The police detained chief editor of Gundalik Azerbaijan newspaper Shahveled Chobanoglu, editor-in-chief of Yeni Musavat newspaper Rauf Arifoglu and editor of the newspaper Zabil Mugabiloglu. The protest action was prevented.
The journalists had intended to picket outside BP-Azerbaijan after the protest action in Sabir park.
Editor-in-chief of Azadliq newspaper Ganimat Zahid told the APA that the picket outside BP-Azerbaijan was postponed, as editors-in-chief were detained.
The editor-in-chief said that they will continue holding protest actions. /APA/
