Journalistsâ€™ Rally Committee meets

The Rally Committee set up on journalistsâ€™ mass protest actions held a meeting, editor-in-chief of Azadlig newspaper Ganimat Zahid told the APA. The journalists debated on answer of Baku Mayorâ€™s Office to their appeal on holding rally on June 12. The committee members noting that Baku Mayorâ€™s Office acted illegally decided to appeal to court. They also decided to hold several protest actions this week. The date and venue of the action has not yet been determined. The next protest action is planned to be held from Neftchiler metro station till Baku Oil Refinery named after Heydar Aliyev.
The participants will demand stooping pressure on media and releasing journalists. Ganimat Zahid said they will appeal to Baku Mayorâ€™s Office tomorrow.
Deputy chief of Baku Main Police Office, Major General Yashar Aliyev told the APA that today he received the members of Rally Committee Rauf Arifoglu and Shahbaz Khuduoglu and asked the rallyâ€™s route. Rauf Arifoglu said that they postponed the rally scheduled on June 12.
Yashar Aliyev underlined that unsanctioned rally will be prevented. /APA/
