Working groups set up on broadcasting of Russian TV channels in Azerbaijan meet in Moscow

The working groups set up for continuation of broadcasting of Russian TV channels in Azerbaijan today met in Moscow, National Television and Radio Council chief Nushiravan Maharramli told the APA.
Azerbaijani working group offered broadcasting one of Russian channels in Azerbaijan and AzT V in Russia.
Azerbaijani working group stated as Russian TV channels are broadcasted in more than 72% of our country AzTV should be broadcasted equally.
Maharramli said the working group will return to Azerbaijani tomorrow and publicize the agreements reached during the meeting.
He also noted that if the working groups reach an agreement, Russian and Azerbaijani governments will sign an agreement. He said that the problem will be solved by the end of this month.
National Television and Radio Council passed a decision on suspending broadcasting foreign TV channels as from July 10. The decision is not applicable to Turkish channel TRT-1 as the period of the contract has not expired yet. /APA/
