Appeal will be filed against the court decision on Eynulla Fetullayev, editor-in-chief and founder of Gundalik Azerbaijan and Realny Azerbaijan newspapers, Fetullayev’s lawyer Isakhan Ahsurov told the APA. The lawyer said they will appeal to the Supreme Court after getting the decision of the Appeals Court. Ashurov said that Eynulla Fetullayev has not yet been interrogated.
“Eynulla Fetullayev has not been interrogated yet. He will probably be interrogated tomorrow,†he said.
Appeals Court upheld the decision of Yasamal district court on the editor.
Eynulla Fetullayev was sentenced to two and a half year in jail under article 147 (slander) of the Criminal Code on the suit of a group of Khojaly residents.
Fetullayev was transferred from Bayil detention place #1 to National Security Ministry’s detention place on the criminal case launched on article 214 (threatening with terrorism) of the Criminal Code on May 29. /APA/
