Alovsat Aliyev: Some Azerbaijanis introducing themselves as journalist have received refugee status in several European countries

Nearly 100 Azerbaijanis introducing themselves as journalists have wanted political asylums from several European countries. As to the specification, 41 of them achieved to get status of refugee as there is not a status of “political asylum†in the international law, the head of Center for Assistance to Migrants Alovsat Aliyev told the APA.
The journalists who want asylums from embassies at present can not be regarded refugee as they live under the patronage of Azerbaijan. He also said refugee status is also given to those who can not use the patronage of his country.
“No one can receive the status of political asylum at present. He can only get refugee status,†he said. /APA/
