“Bizim Yol” (Our way) newspaper’s editor-in-chief Bahaddin Haziyev appealed to the heads of law-enforcement bodies, APA reports quoting the newspaper.
Haziyev sent appeal to Prosecutor General Zakir Garalov, Interior Minister Ramil Usubov and National Security Minister Eldar Mahmudov. The editor-in-chief said that he underwent physical and moral insults by a group of unknown people at the night of May 18 to 19 last year, and he is receiving medical treatment for more than 10 months.
“President of Azerbaijani Republic Ilham Aliyev gave instruction on finding and punishing the accused. Absheron Police Station launched criminal case on the article 127 of Criminal Code on the fact. The investigation recognized me as a victim. But the criminals have not yet been found within this period. But it should be regarded and estimated as conspiracy to my life, namely terrorist act,” he said.
Haziyev stressing that though a year has passed since the accident investigating bodies could not achieve any result, said he is thinking to appeal to Azerbaijani President and international organizations again.
“There are many experienced, professional men in the law-enforcement bodies of Azerbaijan who are able to uncover this crime. Therefore, I think that investigating bodies are not interested to uncover the crime,” he said.
Editor-in-chief stated he will sue Interior Ministry which is responsible for uncovering the assassination attempt against him. /APA/
