Baku. Rashad Suleymanov-APA. “Journalists must abide by the ethical code. If some journalists support the authorities, others opposition, this will impede their professionalism,†Dunja Mijatovic, OSCE Representative for Media Freedom, told journalists, APA reports.
She said the Press Council will hold two trainings on professionalism of journalists. She plans to attend the trainings.
As regards the reports that Hilal Mammadov was arrested not for his journalistic activity, Dunja Mijatovic said it does not matter who is arrested.
“If he is arrested for spreading ideas, I will defend him,†she said.
Dunja Mijatovic said if Azerbaijan wants to move forward, there must not be violence against freedom of expression.
