First assistant of editor-in-chief Rahim Hajiyev told APA that Yasamal district execution department has started executing the court order passed on the suit brought by chairman of ZQAN Holding Board of Directors, founder of Azerbaijan America Alliance Anar Mammadov: “There was a court hearing. According to the court’s decision we had to pay money. The money was not paid and court passed a decision on freezing the newspaper’s bank account.â€
Anar Mammadaov appealed to the court claiming that the articles about him written in the “Azadlig†newspaper were groundless. Yasamal District Court sustained his claim and passed a decision on payment of AZN 4200 compensation by “Azadlig†newspaper. According to decision, the newspaper must give refutation and make apology..
