Maharramli said according to the legislation, free air time shouldn’t be less than three hours. He also reacted to the opposition’s protests about lack of free air time on the public television ITV. “If there are no too many political parties in Azerbaijan, there will be normal air time like other countries. There are such problems and it will appear during the parliamentary elections as well”.

Reminding about the ITV air time given to the political parties, which have candidates in more than sixty electoral districts, Maharramli said the best case was a paid air time.

Regarding the non-determination of concrete tariffs for political advertising prices, Maharramli said if any standards, for examples European standards were taken as an example in scheduling the time, it should be taken into consideration while determining the prices. “Independent TV channels have to determine the prices”.

Maharramli added that the press group established near the Central Election Commission would identify the cases of “black PR” on TV channels.
