Round table on mass media coverage of election process organized in Baku - <font color=red>PHOTOSESSION</font>

According to APA, Head of the OSCE Office in Baku Ali Bilge Cankorel said in his opening speech that pluralist media was important for the democratic elections and his office was willing to support Azerbaijani media in this field. â€œThe mass media has to make efforts to cover all political parties, coalitions, initiative groups of the citizens and independent candidates fairly and unbiased in their news editions, and to agitate them fairly through interviews, editorials, debates and campaignsâ€.

Chairman of the Central Election Commission Mazahir Panahov focused attention on the mass mediaâ€™s important role in the election campaign. He said the Central Election Commission strengthened its work on the eve of the parliamentary elections and was continuing to do it with participation of the mass media.

Chief of the Public Policy Department of the Presidential Administration Ali Hasanov also mentioned the mediaâ€™s role in forming the election atmosphere and welcomed the activity of the OSCE Office in Baku in this direction. â€œThis activity will bring its positive resultsâ€.

Representatives of the Press Council, political parties, civil society and diplomatic missions accredited in Azerbaijan attend the round table.
