Fund of State Support for Development of Mass Media announced competition of journalistsâ€™ articles on occasion of 135th anniversary of Azerbaijani media

The Fund told APA that the competition had been announced on three directions: civil society, establishing of legal state; development of freedom of expression, speech and media, pluralism; protection of human rights and liberties, improvement of legal, political ethics, increase of social and political activeness; protection of public and state interests; informing the world community of the truths about Armenia-Azerbaijan conflict over Nagorno Karabakh, protection of Azerbaijanâ€™s just position; Azerbaijanâ€™s integration into the world community, development of cooperation with the countries of the region, other states, international organizations; coverage of the problems of refugees and IDPs, needy people; promotion of Azerbaijanâ€™s history, national customs and traditions and culture; promotion of the idea of Azerbaijanism; promotion of socio-economic development of the regions; promotion of free entrepreneurship and liberal economy; development of information communications; establishment of Diaspora, lobbying, solidarity of the world Azerbaijanis; coverage of gender, family and demographic problems; development of the national consciousness of the young generation and patriotic feelings; physical and moral development of children and the youth.
Persons continually working in mass media at least for one year can apply for the contest. The submitted articles should cover one of the themes announced by the Fund. Every journalist can submit only one article which was published in the past one year in one of the periodical editions not included in the â€œblack listâ€ of the Azerbaijan Press Council. The articles should be published in Azerbaijani (articles published in foreign languages should be submitted to the Fund in translated form). There should be a note under the article â€œTo submit to the Fund of Government Support for Media Development under the President of the Republic of Azerbaijanâ€.

There will be two winners on every subject and they have to gain maximum 25 points. The participant gained less that 10 points will not win. The winners will be awarded with the Fundâ€™s special diplomas and 1 000 AZN money award. The articles should be in format A3 not more than one page (9-11 000 letters). The published article (copy of newspaper or magazine), A4 printed form (3 copies) and e-version (Times New Roman types, CD) should be submitted to the Fund. The results of the contest will be announced on July 22. The applications and articles can be submitted from April 30 to July 1, at 10.00-16.00 on the officially working days.
