Baku. Elnur Mammadli – APA. Freedom of Speech Protection Fund (FSPF) and Human Rights Working Group organized a round table in Baku dedicated to the problems of contemporary press in the context of Russian media. According to APA, local media experts and leading Russian journalists attended the round table. FSPF director Musa Yagub called on the journalists of different countries to take joint actions to solve media problems.

Chairman of the Russian Journalists Union Vsevolod Bogdanov said one of the problems of contemporary journalism was globalization and globalizing technology. He said globalization created contradiction between the human and society. “Contemporary people don’t believe in journalists, but journalism is a great job. I saw programs and debates produced by the Azerbaijani journalists and found them interesting. These programs have informative character, but journalism is not only information, but it is feelings and emotions as well”.

Russian Journalist Union secretary Mikhail Fedotov made a report on complaints about the press. He said if the people didn’t believe in journalists, they would accept their reports as disinformation.

Local media representatives also joined the discussions.
