Art works selected from international photojournalism contest â€œPictures of the year-2009â€ will be demonstrated - <font color=red>PHOTO</font>

The art works selected from â€œPictures of the year-2009â€ international photojournalism contest will be demonstrated at the Azerbaijan Media Center from February 18 till March 18. The exhibition consisting of 50 photos has been organized by the embassy within the framework of cooperation of University of Missouri Journalism School and Azerbaijan Media Center, US embassy in Azerbaijan told APA. â€œPictures of the year-2009â€ contest has been held since 1944 by the University of Missouri Journalism School. This contest has been intended to take a closer look at the best journalists from all over the world and bring the necessity of visual journalism to the focus of attention. â€œAs we say in America, picture is more valuable than thousand words and these photos give information that canâ€™t be expressed by simple wordsâ€, said Spokesman for US embassy Terry Davidson. To him, without regard to views from Georgian war, election campaign of Barack Obama and reflection of life of the underage soldiers in Kongo, these photos give opportunity to understand the world better.

The exhibition will be opened everyday between 10.00 and 18.00, till March 18.
