Chairman of Azerbaijani Press Council warns racketeering newspapers

The society is well aware of the working principles, aims and purposes of the Press Council. Thatâ€™s why I believe the courts will make a right decisionâ€- Chairman of Azerbaijani Press Council Aflatun Amashov told APA.

Amashov noted that some publications began campaign against the Press Councilâ€™s Board of Directors: â€œThere are pretendants, imitators among them. They try to dishonor and damage reputation of the Council, insult and slander the members of Board of Director in their publications. We know their supporters very well. Some colleagues become the participants of their interviews, and it is very pityâ€.

The Press Council will strengthen the struggle against such publications. It is inadmissible to cast a shadow to the Council and we will use all possible methods: â€œThe Press Council is loyal to main principles. We believe that everyone will support us in this struggle for purification of our media field and return its clear name.
