Azerbaijanâ€™s broadcasting space discussed at the roundtable

Baku. Elbrus Seyfullayev â€“ APA. The National Broadcasting Council of Azerbaijan and the Council of Government Support to Non-Governmental Organizations under the President of Azerbaijan organized a roundtable devoted to the situation of broadcasting space in Azerbaijan. Chairman of the Council of Government Support to NGOs Azay Guliyev said it was topical to discuss problems created recently in the Azerbaijanâ€™s broadcasting area. â€œThe current situation of the broadcasting space is seriously discussed after the article by Chief of the Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev. We will make concrete proposals today, which can be useful for future activity of the televisionsâ€.

Chairman of the National Broadcasting Council Nushiravan Maharramli said most of audience preferred to watch foreign channels. â€œThe main problems of the televisions are lack of professionalism, banality, domination of show-programs and foreign productions. There should be local films and animationsâ€.

AzTV Vice Chairman Faig Husuyev said it was not correct to choose talents via SMS. â€œThe Mugham competition proved that it is possible to find out the talents without sending SMSâ€.

ANS Vice President Mirshahin Aghayev there was a serious television in Azerbaijan with historic and socio-political programs and he hoped that such television will be in near future. â€œNo one can measure the patriotism with percentsâ€.

MP Malahat Ibrahimqizi urged for the protection of national values. She said it needed to use public reproach method, to mobilize existing potential and to raise the mood of patriotism.
