Ramiz Mehdiyevâ€™s article â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s airspace: problems and tasksâ€ discussed at the meeting of National Television and Radio Council

The article â€œAzerbaijanâ€™s airspace: problems and tasksâ€ by head of Presidential Administration Ramiz Mehdiyev, which was published in the Azerbaijan newspaper, was discussed at the meeting of the National Television and Radio Council, APA reports. Chairman of the council Nushiravan Maharramli said the recent changes in the airspace shows the importance of increasing public control on this sphere.
â€œThe council does not interfere with the creative work, personnel policy, financial issues of the TV channels. But the council has recently received a lot of complaints concerning low-quality show programs. One of the main problems is the programs presented by singers, actors. These persons are introduced as a model to the people. These persons behave on television like at home. This damages the content of the airspace,â€ he said.

Maharramli said national and moral values are also widely violated in the advertisements.
â€œHere include advertising of concert of a pregnant woman, toothpastes, sanitary towels,â€ he said.

Nushiravan Maharramli said the council wants the quality of show programs to be improved.
â€œWe do not say show programs should be closed. Of course, people want entertainment. But the content of these programs should be improved. Some TV channels have already reacted to Ramiz Mehdiyevâ€™s article. ATV has already passed a decision to establish an art council and informed the public that the quality of the show programs will be improved. It would be better if the other channels also establish such art councils,â€ he said.
