According to him, over 5000 are working on TV channels, but the majority of them are not journalists by profession.

Therefore, the council will appeal to Education Ministry for increasing the vacancies in the faculty of television journalism in Baku State University. The other proposal of the council will be sent to Culture and Tourism Ministry. Maharramli said few films in Azerbaijani cause serious problems.
“Eight films are produced at the expenditures of the state every year, but none of these films is demonstrated on TV channels. Why aren’t these films demonstrated, if they are produced at the cost of the state budget? Moreover, the Soviet-era films should be sold to the TV channels at symbolic prices, because the state once paid for these films. So, Azerbaycanfilm film studio and Film Directors Guild should not take AZN 150 for the demonstration of “Arshin mal alan” once,” he said.

Maharramli said the council has an idea of establishing a unique television archive.
“There are events connected with Azerbaijan’s history that should be kept in the unique television archive. The televisions to be established after 50 years should use these materials,” he said.

National Television and Radio Council also offers amendments to the chapter “Requirements for television programs” of the Code of Administrative Offences.
“If similar programs, for example, entertaining programs, exceed 35 percent, this is the violation of law. We want to have authorities to take measures about it. We also offer to add a new item to the Code of Administrative Offences concerning the national and moral values,” he said.
