Veronica Kotek meets with leadership of Fund of State Support for Development of Mass Media

Baku â€“ APA. Veronika Kotek, Special Representative of the Secretary General of the Council of Europe, visited the Fund of State Support for the Development of Mass Media under Azerbaijani President, press service of the fund told APA. CE representative took interest in the goal and activity of the fund.

Executive director of the Fund of State Support for the Development of Mass Media Vugar Safarli gave information about the activity of the fund and answered the guestâ€™s questions. Speaking about the project competition held by the fund Safarli said 112 projects were presented for the competition.
â€œThe documents of 25 projects were not in order. 87 projects were presented to the experts for assessment. 12 experts participated in the assessment. Three experts assessed every project. 15 projects failed to gain the necessary points. 17 projects gained necessary points, but their points were fewer than those of the other projects. 55 projects won in the competition. 30 of them were newspapers, 13 information agencies, 6 journalist organizations and 6 other related organizations,â€ he said.
Vugar Safarli also informed Veronika Kotek about the work to be done by the fund by the yearend. Veronika Kotek was satisfied with the meeting and underlined the importance of holding such meetings.
