“First of all, I would like to thank the Azerbaijani side for organizing this visit,” Asset Assavbayev, Secretary General of TRACECA, said in an interview with APA while inspecting the works at the Hakari railway station in Zangilan.
Calling the Zangezur Corridor a meaningful project, the Secretary General noted that construction work is actively continuing on the 110-kilometer Horadiz-Aghbend railway, with work completed on 67 km of the line.
He expressed satisfaction with the Azerbaijani side’s practical progress on the project: “I am confident that the opening of the Zangezur Corridor, which will connect Europe with Asia and, most importantly, the main part of Azerbaijan with Nakhchivan, will significantly enhance Azerbaijan’s status as a regional transport hub. To be honest, I am very impressed. I would like to note that the Zangezur Corridor is a very important route for TRACECA.”
