The volume of the freight transported through the marine transportation in Azerbaijan in 2024 was 8 621,4 tons and decreased by 4,3% compared to the previous year, APA-Economics reports citing State Statistic Committee.
According to the information, in the reporting period, oil accounted for 48,9% of the transported freight.
“Loading-unloading work in the volume of 14 051,7 thousand tons has been carried out by the seaports and 11 315,8 thousand tons or 80,5% of the cargo consisted of transit freight. The volume of the freight remained in ports for January 1, 2025 was 653 thousand tons”, said the information.
It was reported that the number of passengers transported by this type of transport during the period increased by 19.8% in comparison with 2023, reaching 28.4 thousand people.
