No fees to be charged at airports in Azerbaijan during rescue flights

The Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Azerbaijan has approved the "Rules for calculating the amount of fees for airport services and air navigation services provided by service providers", APA reports.

With the adoption of the decision, the requirements for calculating the amount of fees for airport services and air navigation services provided by service providers, types of air navigation services, the amount of fees for air navigation services provided for international flights and domestic air transportation carried out in transit through the airspace of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the amount of fees for air navigation services provided for landing or taking off of aircraft for international air transportation at an airport located in the territory of the Republic of Azerbaijan, the calculation of the amount of fees for airport services provided by service providers and the concessions applied in this area were determined.

According to the decision, the following cases are exempt from charges for air navigation services:

- flights for search and rescue operations;

- forced landing due to a technical problem on an aircraft;

- training flights;

- flights for checking the technical systems of the airport and air navigation;

- bad weather conditions at the airport of departure (landing) or along the flight path;

- emergency situations that threaten the safety of civil aviation.

Airport services are exempt from charges in the following cases:

- provision of landing (take-off) and parking services to carriers operating flights for the United Nations and the International Committee of the Red Cross, as well as those arriving in the Republic of Azerbaijan in connection with humanitarian aid;

- provision of landing (take-off) and parking services to aircraft performing search and rescue operations;

- provision of landing (take-off) and parking services to aircraft returning to the airport of departure without landing at any other airport;

- provision of parking services during the delay period when the departure of an aircraft is delayed due to bad weather conditions at the departure (landing) airport or along the flight path or the occurrence of emergency situations threatening civil aviation safety;

- provision of parking services for an aircraft that has to make an emergency landing or is delayed in departure due to a technical problem that has arisen on the aircraft as a result of an aviation incident, for the period required to eliminate the technical problem.
